Internet marketing - Find a Niche To Promote Online

Many people struggle a lot when they first get into internet affiliate marketing. First, it’s the fact that many people think that internet marketing is easy and won’t take up a lot of work or time, so when they find out that is not the case, they get discouraged. Second, I would say is the fact that when people start being exposed to all the terminology, some get discouraged as well. Well, as all successful internet marketers out there know, in order to create a profitable campaign, there needs to be a lot of research put into it. The niche you are trying to get into, the keywords, the niche market, supply and demand, etc. In this article, I intend to explain how you should do proper research when looking for a niche market to promote. So let’s dive right into it. What is a niche market? In a few words, a niche market is when a group of people search for solutions to their issues/problems and can’t find many solutions. Niches are usually smaller parts of a bigger industry. Niches are great for marketers because they can usually find specific high converting keywords that are less expensive than broader/more general keywords. There are 2 basic steps marketers take when searching for a niche market. Step 1- Find a keyword that is NOT broad, and IS specific inside a certain industry. An example of that would be the term “weight loss” versus “weight loss for diabetics”, or “lose weight before your wedding”. There is simply way too much competition for the keyword “weight loss”, and it would take a lot of time and money to be even get anywhere near the results of people that have been promoting those keywords long before you. Also, if you are selling a product on weight loss for women who are getting married, you want to be as specific as possible with your keyword. Those are the people that will most likely buy from you, and not those who simply search for the term “weight loss”. Those people can be searching for weight loss pills for all you know, and will not do you any good. Bottom line, find specific keywords to your niche. Step 2 - Search and determine whether the niche is profitable or not. Remember, research is key, and without research you will be shooting in the dark. There are a few things you should do when researching the profitability of your niche market. – Use a keyword tool such as Google’s Keyword Research Tool . Find keywords with a lot of searches and then look for the one with less search volumes. This is good as you are probably finding the more specific keywords in this stage. – Research forums, blogs and websites to find out what kind of problems or issues people are looking to get solved. As a marketer, your goal is to provide people with solutions to their problems, as they will pay money for answers they can’t find for free. A few good places to start looking for problems to be solved are: Google Groups, Yahoo Groups, Yahoo Answers, Msn Groups, Myspace, and Facebook. Look for words such as cure, repair, fix, get fixed, etc. – Lastly, find out if your niche receives a lot of traffic. You can do that by using web sites like Wordtracker , nichebot.com, and alexa.com . Once you find a profitable niche, it is time to find a product to promote. Sites like clickbank.com, cj.com (comission junction) will help you with that. I recommend starting with clickbank, as it is very easy to use. Once you have gone through this entire process on finding a profitable niche, it is time to start your internet affiliate marketing campaign with the keywords you have chosen. |
